  • Announcing the Retirement of Wayne Davies

Congratulations to Wayne Davies! Wayne taught and led in rural and urban K to 12 mainstream and alternative settings in Manitoba and on the Lax Kw'alaams Reserve in northwest British Columbia. He retired on April 28, 2023, after 32 years of service as an educator.

Wayne has served as an educational leader at both the school and divisional levels for 17 years of his distinguished career. Wayne joined the Louis Riel School Division in 2019 from Hanover School Division, where he served in various leadership roles for many years. Wayne served as vice-principal at Glenlawn Collegiate before being appointed vice-principalship at Nelson McIntyre Collegiate in August 2022.

Wayne is a published author and lifelong learner. He is pursuing an educational doctorate in educational leadership.

Acknowledging every student he walked past and finding meaningful ways to involve parents in their children's education are pillars of his leadership style. He believes everything we do must result in increased learning for the children in our care.

Wayne is passionate about creating equitable learning opportunities for all students. He has continually strived to learn about the unique stories that students, families and colleagues shared with him throughout his career.

Wayne recognizes the importance of teamwork to support and enhance community potential. During the past year, his creativity and sense of humour have been appreciated at Nelson McIntyre Collegiate.

We wish Wayne the best of luck as he continues his professional learning and supports educational outcomes for those around him. We know he will appreciate the additional time spent with his family during retirement.
