  • Announcing the Retirement of Ron Harder

In January, Ron Harder, Vice-Principal at H.S. Paul School, provided notice of his retirement, effective June 30, 2023.

Ron obtained a Bachelor of Education in 1995, joining the staff at Victor Wyatt and Darwin Schools in his inaugural year of teaching.

He moved on to George McDowell School from 1996 to 2007, teaching in both the early and middle years. Ron's philosophy of education stems from the pillars of inclusion and the profound belief that every student has the ability to develop literacy and numeracy skills. Ron supported his work to leverage students' natural wonder and curiosity in their daily practice.

Ron believed that, first and foremost, educators should engage in the developmental process of people becoming better human beings. He demonstrated an understanding that there is a profound responsibility to show compassion, empathy, and respect toward those within our circle of care.

Ron's work to help others grow and evolve as well-rounded human beings was evident in each school community he served.

Ron received his postbaccalaureate in education in 2013 before being appointed the vice principal at Hastings School.

Ron joined the H.S. Paul community as vice principal in 2022, where his career in the Louis Riel School Division will end.

We thank Ron for his years of service and recognize the positive impact he has had in the lives of students, families, and staff across the communities he has served.
