The evening will include guided tours of the school by current students and an opportunity for community members to review and provide feedback on the design concepts for a major addition and renovation. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. There will also be student performances and art displays throughout the evening.

Please note that the current consultations with community on the high-level designs presented are a primary step in finalizing a request to the Manitoba government for this capital project. The Open House will not include a formal presentation or Q&A period; however, further information on the options, the forecasted milestones and the consultative process is available below.

As many of you may already know, in the 2021-2022 school year the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) Board of Trustees approved that J.H. Bruns Collegiate will be re-designated as the catchment area high school for English program students residing in Sage Creek. Further information on this decision is available here

This change will be implemented effective Sept. 3, 2024. To prepare for additional students in the school, LRSD is taking the next important step toward a major addition and renovation project at J.H. Bruns Collegiate.

The division is working with Number TEN Architectural Group on a design concept for the project.

"The concept design will support the request we’ve made to the Manitoba government for this capital project," said Christian Michalik, Superintendent. "In the ongoing dialogue with our government partners, they have been very supportive of the work we are doing."

On Thursday, Oct. 20, interested students, staff and parents/guardians from J.H. Bruns Collegiate, its current Family of Schools and Sage Creek were invited to a consultation to provide their thoughts and imagine this new learning space alongside the architect and divisional leadership.

During the meeting, three design concepts were unveiled. Students, staff and parents/guardians from J.H. Bruns Collegiate, its current Family of Schools and Sage Creek are encouraged to watch the full presentation, click here to view the options and click here to provide feedback through the survey. You can also access the survey by scanning the QR code below.
