LRSD TV reaches over 100,000 views on YouTube
Students in the Broadcast Media Program at the Louis Riel Arts and Technology Centre continue to gain valuable experience learning to film and livestream high school sports.
Streaming of all home games in the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) began in October to ensure parents/guardians were able to watch their student athletes play volleyball and football. In just over two months, LRSD TV has received over 100,000 views on YouTube.
"For my students, this has been a valuable experience of not only learning to shoot volleyball and football, but also learning how to stream on their own," said Ken Plaetinck, instructor of the Broadcast Media program. "They have become great problem solvers, and are learning to work with each other, and by themselves. As a teacher, I couldn't be more proud."
Feedback from students, parents, coaches, and the community has also been outstanding. LRSD sports fans can look forward to the basketball live streams in the new year on LRSD TV.
