Announcing the Retirement of Amy Warriner

Amy Warriner Happy Retirement

The LRSD Board of Trustees accepted the retirement notice for Amy Warriner on March 11, 2025.

Amy received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba in 1992 followed by a Bachelor of Education with Honours from Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface in 1997. A lifelong learner, Amy received her Master of Education from the University of Manitoba in 2017.

Amy worked in various French Immersion schools in the St. James-Assiniboia and Red River Valley School Divisions from 1997 to 2009. She joined the Louis Riel School Division in 2010 as Vice-Principal of École St. Germain and became Principal in 2013. After nine years at École St. Germain, she transitioned to École Varennes as Principal in 2019.

A collaborative leader, Amy values teamwork in problem-solving and decision-making. She is dedicated to creating safe, respectful school environments where every student feels valued. With a student-centred approach, she prioritizes their well-being and success in all decisions. Leading by example, she fosters a culture of lifelong learning, growth, and continuous improvement.

Amy put it best in her philosophy of education, “We all have the capacity to learn, and we all need the opportunity to develop our diverse talents.”

She is to be commended for her passion for the French language, her advocacy for French Immersion education, and her leadership in developing LRSD’s class profile and support model, later adopted province-wide. Amy is also to be commended for her leadership among her peers in her various roles with LRASA, including President, and provincially in her work with AMDI.

We wish Amy health and happiness as she embarks on new adventures in retirement.
