Song of Hope Charity Concert

“Music has the power to heal, to inspire, and to unite us in our battles, much like a steadfast companion in the fight against cancer.” -Julie Andrews.

Get ready for an extraordinary evening on May 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Dakota Collegiate’s gymnasium.

Experience history in the making with the mesmerizing performances by the Senior Honour Band (grades 10-12) and the Junior Honour Band (grades 8-9) as they put on the first-ever “Song of Hope” concert. Special guest Dr. Jacquie Dawson from the University of Manitoba Music Department will conduct the Senior Honour Band.

Feel all the emotions while listening to the “Song of Hope,” a composition by Peter Meechan, made as a beacon of courage for those affected by cancer. Mr. Meechan will be in attendance to speak to his inspirational piece.

Witness this outstanding performance as both bands unite to deliver this moving anthem.

The students in the Honour Bands represent most band programs in LRSD.
