DCI Alumni Robin Mann and Arshdeep Chauhan Return to Spread Cheer

The holiday season is upon us, and there is heartwarming news from two Dakota Collegiate alumni. Robin Mann and Arshdeep Chauhan, graduates from the class of 2018, returned to their alma mater on Dec. 21, with a mission to spread love and joy to families in need.

These familiar faces, well-known for their roles as co-presidents of the grad committee and dedicated volunteers for HamperTime, made a special visit on a mission of goodwill. Their journey has taken an exciting turn as they launched their own podcast, 204 Rise, dedicated to uncovering and celebrating the hidden talents within our city.

Robin and Arshdeep, now pursuing careers in teaching and civil engineering, have a deep-rooted commitment to giving back to the community that shaped them.

This dynamic duo, along with their team and a videographer, arrived at the school in three Volkswagen SUVs, generously provided by St James Volkswagen Dealership Drivers. They partnered with the dealership to bring carefully selected family gifts to assist those in need during the holiday season.

Rob Janzen, Dean Favoni, and Robbie Scott all agree that Robin and Arshdeep are making a significant impact. Robbie Scott even shared an anecdote about Robin distributing business cards with the inspiring phrase "spread love," which has become Robin's life motto.

The alumni were present at Dakota Collegiate for a couple of hours, allowing students and staff to interact with them in the front foyer. The gifts were delivered to the Student Services Teachers’ offices, ensuring that the families associated with Dakota Collegiate feel the love and generosity of these remarkable alumni.

The festivities continued on Friday, Dec. 22, as Robin and Arshdeep, accompanied by a videographer, joined the big HamperTime celebration. Arriving around lunchtime, they were actively involved in helping with set up and meeting with teachers. The Dakota Collegiate community extended a warm welcome to these generous alumni who continue to exemplify the spirit of giving.

The Dakota Collegiate community is truly fortunate to have such outstanding individuals who exemplify the school and division's values of leadership, generosity, and community engagement.
