Chris Sigurdson, a Criminal Defense Lawyer by profession, grew up with educator parents who surrounded him with talk about and passion for education. When his children started school, he became even more interested in getting involved in educational issues.
Chris is proud of and inspired by the strong sense of community in LRSD schools. His passion is to ensure equal access to quality education for all students.
Prioritizing citizenship, engagement and literacy/numeracy throughout the Division, Chris says, "we strengthen the public education system and produce equal access to excellence." The strength of the public education system in turn strengthens the community. Chris strongly believes that all citizens benefit when the public education system is strong.
