Repost from Nelson McIntyre School's blog: http://ow.ly/5xDH30jDCNA Nelson McIntyre Collegiate Grade Nine student, Peytyn Senka, is a star on Canadian Wrestling mats. After going undefeated in more than 50 matches in Manitoba this season, Peyten emerged as the Manitoba High School Women's Provincial Champion in the 49 kg weight class. In fact, she competed in both the Junior High and High School Divisions, going undefeated in both. On April 14th in Edmonton, Alberta, she proved that she was worthy of fighting for a spot on the national podium. After a tough loss in her first Freestyle match, Peytyn fought her way through the ranks to challenge for a bronze medal, eventually finishing in 4th place, ahead of her first-round opponent. That result, however, was just a beginning for Peytyn. A day later in the Greco-Roman Championship, Peytyn went undefeated and claimed Gold in the 49 kg weight class! Congratulations Peytyn Senka, the 49 kg Greco-Roman Wrestling Canadian Champion!
