Over 100 school and divisional leaders gathered on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 to participate in the launch of a new consultation process designed to guide strategic planning in the Division for the next several years.
The consultation enables LRSD staff members, students and parents to share their vision for LRSD in 2030. The consultation will take place in one staff, one parent, and one student (supported by their teachers) forum. Users can share an unlimited number of short thoughts anonymously and rate the thoughts of others. A dashboard enables users to see which ideas are gaining traction over the course of the consultation process.
"LRSD is encouraging all staff and all LRSD parents to tell us what they think. What would they like the future of LRSD to look like and how should we get there?" says Superintendent Christian Michalik.
Administrators are in the process of sending the links out to staff and parents. The forums will remain open until January 25, 2019. Users are encouraged to rate approximately 30 thoughts while on the system.
This is the first of two consultations. The first will be used to update LRSD's Mission, Vision and Values statements, while the second (in February/March) will inform strategic planning, specifically, LRSD's Multi-Year Strategic Plan that coincides with the School Board's four-year mandate.
"We want to take the best of what has come before and make it relevant for the future. This is a unique opportunity to participate in helping us set a new course for learning and interacting with the wider LRSD community now and for years to come," says LRSD Board Chair Sandy Nemeth.
Those that haven't received their link will be receiving it shortly. If you haven't received by early next week, contact your school administration.-posted on January 11, 2018 by Michelle Lancaster, Communications Coordinator
