Welcoming Jordana Milne, Sport Convenor

The Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) is happy to welcome Jordana Milne as the division's Sport Convenor. Jordana will be instrumental in initiating a collaborative leadership approach to organizing and delivering sport that is aligned with the values and beliefs of LRSD's Multi-Year Strategic Plan. She is responsible for organizing and facilitating a successful and inclusive co-curricular and extra-curricular K-12 Athletic/Sport Program.

Jordana comes to LRSD from the University of Manitoba where she has worked in various capacities in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management. She has recently been working with Recreation Services and has an extensive background working various roles with Mini U Programs. Jordana has a Masters of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelors of Recreation Management and Community Development from the University of Manitoba. Her research centers around holistic health and wellbeing relating to outdoor recreation, tourism, and child-nature relationships, but also includes a passion for organizational/team culture, leadership, and youth sport.

Jordana has an extensive sport background, playing volleyball for five years at the University of Manitoba and winning a national championship during the 2013-2014 season. She has coached at a club level in Winnipeg and has experience at the university level assistant coaching with the University of Waterloo Women's Volleyball team. Jordana is excited to bring her experience with research, sport, and recreation to LRSD.
