Board Meeting Highlights: Sept. 7, 2021

September 13, 2021

On Tuesday, Sept. 7, the annual meeting of the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) Board of Trustees preceded the regular meeting. For 2021-2022, Trustee Louise Johnston will serve as Chair, and Trustee Sandy Nemeth will serve as Vice-Chair. The board is moving from a standing committee structure to committee of the whole for all governance work this year.

As is done on an annual basis, declarations from each trustee were recorded related to code of conduct, conflict of interest, oath of confidentiality and residency.

The regular public meeting was called to order by the Chair. After comments from the Chair and Superintendent Michalik, Melissa Brown, School and Family Community Connector, and Michaela Calderwood, Community Resource Worker, were welcomed to make a presentation regarding the vaccine pop-up clinics happening at the René Deleurme Centre.

The Annual Report to our community is finished and will soon be available for public viewing at www.LRSD.net

First reading was given to by-laws to authorize religious instruction at three schools.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.

The next public meeting of the LRSD Board of Trustees is Sept. 21, 2021. The agenda and link to register will be made public on Friday, Sept. 17.
