On Monday, November 30, staff from across the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) came together for day of professional development. The day began with greetings and a message of hope from Kunsi Pahan, a member of LRSD’s Council of Grandmothers and Grandfathers. Louise Johnston, Chair of LRSD’s Board of Trustees, also shared a message of encouragement and was a part of the morning of learning.

The professional learning theme was about quality teaching and learning in the context of the pandemic from keynote speaker
Brenda Augusta. The session covered topics such as collaboration, technology, well-being, building community and student engagement.
Building on lessons learned from the remote learning experience in the spring of 2020 and the creation of the Learning from Home School/L'École Apprendre-chez-soi, school communities spent the afternoon planning for a potential move to Critical (Red). Our learning and preparing of the next steps will continue at LRSD’s next professional development day on Monday, December 7.
