Welcome Back!

We hope that you had an enjoyable summer break.

The 2008/2009 school year has begun after a smooth start-up and busy Opening Day Conferences. The students are back in class and the staff are ready to get going for another busy year. We have several new students at the school and we will be introducing them at the Welcome Back Assembly during the first week of school.

The following staff are new to General Vanier:

• Mr. Ron Harder is working in student services
• Ms. Judy Galaydick is teaching in the Skills for Living Program
• Ms. Karen Kozar is teaching a Grade 5/6 class 
• Ms. Kristy Ritchot is teaching in the Grade 7 and 8 area
• Ms. Darlene Flett is also teaching in the Grade 7 and 8 area
• Ms. Janelle Badiou is teaching the band program.
• Mr. Alan Koehler is our evening custodian.

As well, Mr. Nicholas Kelly will be the Vice-Principal this year until January when Ms. Bunny Mitchell will be returning to General Vanier after serving as the Principal of Lavallee School.

Please note that the school canteen will be operating again this year beginning on Monday, September 15, 2008.

Volunteers are always appreciated at General Vanier. If you have some time to spare, please contact the school for various volunteer opportunities.

Just a reminder to please observe all parking regulations in front of the school and please be mindful to not block driveways and sidewalk access points.
