Transitions For Success

The Transition for Success program is an offsite program to meet the needs of Grade 9 to Grade 12 students who require additional support intervention to maintain placement at their home school. The program is designed to provide solution-focused counselling to deal with circumstances resulting from challenging behaviour. In addition, academic support is provided to maintain connection to the home school in an effort to maintain credit standing.

The TFS program should be seen as a component of a school-based plan for intervention. This partnership is intended to be the least disruptive process to assist the student, family and school personnel sustain the student in his home school environment.

Objectives

The following services are provided by TFS:

  1. Facilitate academic programming
  2. Intervention and therapeutic programming for students and their parents
  3. Referral to outside agencies if needed
  4. Mediation services
