Happy New Year

Happy New Year, and welcome back to school. As the winter sets in, hibernation is definitely not the case at René Deleurme Centre. Change and growth continue and are marked by the following: 

• Newcomer families continue to arrive in increasing numbers
• Activities and events fill our winter calendar 
• Minor renovations and adjustments to space are numerous
• Students in various programs continue to learn and grow   

Winter presents a number of challenges for Newcomer families, not the least of which is the cold. It is often the case that Newcomer families arrive without adequate clothing for the winter so are often in need of these items. And is it is often the case that we receive calls from families interested in donating gently used winter clothing. If you would like to donate gently used winter clothing to a newcomer family, please make donations directly to existing agencies like Welcome Place or other community agencies that accept clothing donations. At René Deleurme Centre we simply do not have the space or resources to receive, sort, and distribute clothing donations.
