Nordale School's Terry Fox Run took place on Friday September 22nd. Parents and other guests in the community are welcome to join us for this event. Donations (optional) can be made at that time. our Terry Fox Run ventures through part of the Norwood community.
Our bouldering wall was installed last spring and is currently being used by all grade levels! This is a great opportunity to build strength, confidence and have fun at the same time.
This wall in 10 feet tall, does not require any ropes for assisting, just mats and a few safety rules are in place. Of course, students and other members of the community are only permitted to climb with permission. Evening groups will not be permitted to use the bouldering wall. Thank you to the Nordale Parent Association and the Louis Riel School Division for assisting with expenses to build this centre.
Cool activities we have offered...
- Ski Trips: for grades 5-8 students
- Skating: at Norwood Community Club on separate occasions for grade 4-8 students. Each student will is required to wear helmets that we provide, or their own.
- X-Country Skiing: Grade 7 and 8 students took advantage of the skis on loan from LRSD while venturing along the Lyndale Drive Parkway. These opportunities took place through various Physical Education Classes.
- Tennis: Lesson opportunities at the Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club and Norwood Community Club
Volleyball Fall 2006
Thank you to the following volunteer coaches:
- Larry McKay, Head Coach, U of W Wesmen and an assistant coach with Canada's national Men's Team, is also our grade 7 and 8 Nordale Boys Teams coach! I think he's qualified! Larry is running the training for our grade 7 boys team as well and Ms. Winters and Mr. Boechers are are coaching.
- U of W students Lauren Frost and Karla Tkachyk are coaching Nordale's grade 7/8 Girls Team.
Basketball 2007
- Tanya McKay, Head Coach, U of W Lady Wesmen, is coaching our grade 8 Boys team. Aren't we luck to have a Master Level Coach!
- The amount of skills development and strategy that has been presented to these boys is phenomenal, yet totally at their level.
- As we do not have a girl's basketball team, we are running a weekly basketball club to introduce skills and strategy ... and to get these young ladies playing.
Volleyball for Fall of 2007
- We are currently seeking coaches for our boys and girls teams.
