Visit monthly to learn more about the school’s upcoming events. What's happening in May?We are enjoying the warming Spring weather and anticipating many new and exciting learning experiences during the month of May.
On May 5 we will hold an assembly at 1:30 p.m. in the gym to celebrate a Platinum Recognition Award from the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. This organization promotes awareness and support for the need for quality daily physical education in all Canadian schools.
On May 6 we welcome our guests for Seniors’ Day at Nordale School and indeed, throughout the Louis Riel School Division. Then we move on to Friday, May 9 our students in Room 12 will once again hold their White Elephant Sale. As well on that afternoon, our students in Grades 6, 7 and 8 will have the opportunity to attend the opera, “The Magic Flute.”
In highlighting the Arts programs at Nordale, on May 12 our Grade 4 students will be involved in the annual Orff Day festival. The students in Grade 1 – 3 are kicking up their heels as they prepare for Folkdance in the Park. This annual event involving all schools in the Louis Riel School Division will take place at St. Vital Park on May 23 , with May 28 as the rain date. During the week of May 12 – 16, our students in Grade K – 5 will be involved in a program about Planet Earth organized through the Artists in the Schools program. The annual and popular Talent Show will be held on Thursday, May 22 in the gym beginning at 6:30 p.m.
