Monday June 11, 2012Roots Of Empathy Baby Needed!BABIES NEEDED!
Roots of Empathy is an award winning, evidence based classroom program that has shown a dramatic effect in reducing levels of aggression and violence among school children while raising their social/emotional competence and increasing their empathy.
During this past year Mrs. Goodman's Grade 3/4 class participated in this year long project. Baby Kisa and her mother made 9 classroom visits. During these visits, students examined what is required to care for a baby and the skills that we need to develop in order to better interpret a baby's communication. The students have both enjoyed and benefitted from this program.
We would like to continue this program next year. However, in order to do so, we need to have a volunteer baby and parent. If you or anyone you know is interested in particpating in this year long program and has a 2- 3 month old baby in September, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Mrs. Elan Woods at the school ( 257-0640) for more information. Please feel free to share this information with anyone who may be interested.
We appreciate your support of this worthwhile program.
