Principal's Message

Service to Community

Once again it is time to celebrate the outstanding student volunteers of NPS. Niakwa has caring students in all grades that lend a helping hand when needed. Over 70 students have made regular commitments this year to volunteer. These students know that even a few minutes of their time every week help make a difference. Here are just some examples of how or where our students have volunteered: Take Pride Winnipeg Recycle and Clean Up program, Unicef, St Amant Centre, Meadow Wood Nursing Home, Winnipeg Harvest, in the Early Years classrooms, in the library, with Phys. Ed and Creative Movement programs, with Intramural programs, with the Christmas concert stage crew, with Green Eyed Panthers Crew and the Garden Crew. In addition to helping out at Niakwa , the following grade 7/8 students also volunteer regularly at St Amant Centre: Taylor L, Nick X, Wesley K, Taylor M and Mark D.

Our community can be proud of all these young, caring volunteers.
