About Us
NMC MISSION STATEMENT
In keeping with divisional educational goals, Nelson McIntyre Collegiate will provide a safe, caring, and stable learning environment. NMC will promote critical thinking skills and a desire for lifelong learning. Nelson McIntyre Collegiate students will strive for excellence in a setting which fosters the values of responsibility, accountability, respect, and good citizenship.
Nelson McIntyre is a Grade 9 to 12 high school with 378 students, 28 teachers, 1 Principal, 1 Vice-Principal, 4 clerical, 4 custodians and 18 Educational Assistants Number of staff. Nelson McIntyre has a number of programs to support student learning: the regular Grade 9 to 12 academic program, a Co-Op Education program, a Teenage Parent Program (T.A.P.P.) for teen parents and their children, and an International Student Program (ISP) with students from other countries earning graduation credits and university entrance requirements.
In addition to regular academic course, several of our teachers specialize in areas such as Human Ecology, Industrial Arts, Physical Education, Band, Guitar, Choir, and Jazz Band. Nelson McIntyre also supports students through our Academic Centre and Counselling Service. Divisional Clinicians also have regularly scheduled days at the school. Students also have the opportunity to attend the Louis Riel Arts and Technology Centre and the Winnipeg Technical College to earn elective credits and earn certificates in a variety of vocational and technical areas.
