Administrators’ Message

Our Sincere Thanks to Mrs. Bonnett!

Just a few weeks ago, Zoe Bonnet, our long-time and dedicated administrative secretary announced her plans to retire from George McDowell School. Many of you know Zoe, as she has been ever present in McDowell School since January of 1984. Zoe began as a volunteer in the school and soon found herself working in the office. Our school community has been very fortunate over the past 25 years. Zoe has freely given her time and demonstrated her commitment to the students, staff, and parent community. Zoe will be greatly missed when she begins her retirement in January of 2009.

Congratulations, Zoe! We wish you all the best in your retirement.

November has ended on a very positive note. At the Portfolio Conferences, the students were prepared to share the successes they’ve experienced this year and they were also able to set personal goals for the next few months. We thank you for the support you give to the work we do with your children.
December has arrived and fortunately we can say that it has come in with mild temperatures. We have some community projects already underway and are looking forward to seeing them develop throughout the next two weeks of the month. Our students are supporting both the Pennies from LRSD campaign and our efforts to provide various items for the hampers we will prepare for Winnipeg Harvest.
