Principal's BulletinWednesday April 23, 2008Not In My School Video ChallengeOn Friday April 18th, the Minister of Education, Citizenship & Youth, the Honourable Peter Bjornson, presented Marion School Teacher Sherri McQuaker and her Grade 8 students Braden Houle, Gabe Santos, MacKenzie Reid, and Jonathon Fawcett with a plaque to commemorate their accomplishments for being selected as one of the top three entries in the NOT in My School! Bullying Video Challenge 2007-2008 in the province of Manitoba.There were 160 entries from 62 schools. The successful selections were voted on by over 2400 Manitoba students from grades k-12. The Marion School video was written, directed, filmed and edited by the four students who were assisted by their teacher and former divisional ICT Coordinator Jason Dubeau. The video shows how students can make a difference in dealing with bullying at school. Their video was titled…”You can make it stop” The winning videos can be seen at www.edu.gov.mb.ca/k12/safe_schools/index.html Congratulations!
