JH Bruns Jazz Guitar Program joins forces with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra

This February, members of the JH Bruns Jazz Guitar Program will join forces with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra to present a world premier of the Tim Brady composition Amplify, Multiply, Remix, and Redefine for solo electric guitar, guitar ensemble, and orchestra. Our guitar students have been hard at work learning and rehearsing this challenging piece written in homage to Les Paul, inventor of the electric guitar. In addition, the Godin Guitar Company has agreed to sponsor our students and will be providing brand new Godin electric guitars for the performance. This concert piece is one of several that will be featured during the closing night of the WSO’s annual New Music Festival at the concert Hall on Friday, Feb 12, 8:00 p.m. For tickets and more information, please visit:

Musicians without Borders

As part of the annual Winter Concert series at J.H Bruns, a fundraiser for Musicians without Borders Canada was held to support building a transportation system in Tekera, a small village in Uganda. A huge thanks goes to the Music Parents Association, the Music Department and the administration at J.H. Bruns Collegiate for their support in making this event happen. A grand total of $523 was raised! Congratulations J.H. Bruns!
