Guidance Support

The Counselling Department is based on a self-referral model that is available to all students. Individuals may also be referred by parents, administration/staff, and concerned friends.

Students can expect the following services from the school counsellors:

1. Educational Planning

The counsellor will assist students in areas of high school course selection, secondary school alternatives, and post-secondary planning.

2. Personal Counselling

Students can be assured that problems of any nature may be discussed in a caring and private atmosphere. The Guidance Department has access to many community resources; one being the Divisional Student Support Team, which includes social work, speech and hearing, as well as mental health intervention/support services.
