Academic Support

The Academic Prep Program at J. H. Bruns Collegiate supports student academic success. In collaboration with the administration, teachers, parents/guardians and students, curriculum adaptations are developed to suit the student’s individual needs.

Educational Assistants work one-on-one with individual students or small groups of students in the Academic Prep Centre or in the student’s classroom. Progress is monitored through regular communication with the student, the teacher and the parent/guardian. The inclusive setting provides a quiet working environment for any student who wishes to access the many features of the Academic Prep Program.

The school newspaper, JH Bruns Bronco Express, is published from the Academic Prep Centre, and highlights our students’ achievements. Any student can volunteer for the newspaper staff in the capacity of reporter, editor and photographer.

The more connected a student is to the school; the more successful that student will be academically.
