Principal's Bulletin
Friday July 11, 2008Sunny Days...As we all head off to enjoy the sunny days ahead, we would like to congratulate our graduating Class of 2008 and wish them the best of luck on whatever paths they choose.
The 2007 – 2008 school year passed quickly; a sign of the busy lives students, parents and teachers lead throughout the school year. During the last ten months, we celebrated many school events with our community.
Our sports teams had a successful year, being very competitive, earning six league banners and competing in Provincial Championships. More importantly, our student/athletes represented our school with respect and responsibility.
"Wearing the Bronco emblem is an honour and a privilege."
Our performing arts programs: vocal, guitar, band and theatre once again made us proud to be a Bronco! Many of our J.H. Bruns community members were entertained and inspired by the wide variety of talent that exists in our building.
Our school interest groups demonstrated “What a J.H. Bruns student is”, when they reach out globally and act locally. Our students sometimes quietly and sometimes with much enthusiasm, drew attention to issues that affect us and others.
"Bruns Students Care!"
During the year, our teaching staff skillfully guided the students in the classroom, in clubs, on teams, within interest groups and during school wide events. Blood donor clinics; lunch hour career sessions; afternoon tea with our EAL pen-pals; community information evenings; a social gathering at our Coffee House; entrepreneurial demonstrations; student trips in the city, across the country and off to Europe; outdoor education excursions; an evening listening and watching our students perform; all of these activities makes us grateful for those busy days.
"Bronco Pride is displayed in many ways!"
As we all head off to enjoy the warm sunny days ahead, we would like to thank the office staff, custodians, coaches, conductors, directors, supervisors and teachers for the busy days. A tribute to their commitment to J.H. Bruns students.
We return in the fall once again, in partnership with our school community, to help form “What a J.H. Bruns student is”.
Enjoy your Sunny Days!
