About Us

J. H. Bruns Collegiate is a secondary school (9-12) with an enrolment in excess of 750 students. The staff at J. H. Bruns is committed to providing the best possible learning environment with as many opportunities as possible for all students.

J. H. Bruns offers a wide variety of curricula to our students; we have a total of 130 different courses at varying levels. Students have the opportunity to participate in French classes, the performing arts as well as the practical arts with choices like: Band (Jazz), Choir (Jazz), Guitar (Jazz) Technical Music Production, Musical Theatre and Art. The practical arts include: Automotive Technology, Graphics, Electronics, Metals, and Power and Energy. An AP course is offered in Mathematics, as well as honours courses in English, Geography, Sciences and History.

Extracurricular opportunities cover a wide range: Athletics, Newspaper, Yearbook, Student Voice, Debate Club, Students Helping Our World (S.H.O.W.), Earth Stewardship Program (ESP), Creative Writing, Chess, Natural Helpers, Sports Council and Student Council.

The main entrance will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SCHOOL DAY - 2 DAY CYCLE:

SHORTENED DAY: (Staff meetings, etc.)

Shortened afternoons occur every LAST Tuesday of the month to allow for staff meetings.

HOMEROOM DAY: (Homeroom meetings)

Homeroom sessions occur every LAST Wednesday morning of the month.
