Student pick-up & drop-off - A Safety Concern
Parents/Guardians are asked to pick-up and drop-off students in the Bus Loop to the north of the school.
The staff parking lot located to the north of the school is not a pick-up or drop-off area. As cars are backing up and leaving the lot, it becomes a safety issue.
PLEASE DO NOT PICK-UP OR DROP-OFF STUDENTS AT THE FRONT DOORS ON LAKEWOOD BLVD. THIS BECOMES A DANGEROUS AREA CREATING A TRAFFIC HAZARD.
Southdale Community Centre Parking (SCC)
As you are aware, the SCC is undergoing construction for the next year. This will impact parking, drop off and pickup for students and parents. The SCC is allowing our students to park in the lot, but because of the construction, only the first 3 rows closest to Lakewood Blvd will be available. Students parking in any of the other rows on the lot will be towed. The remaining rows are for SCC program users only. Also, access to the parking lot will be restricted. The south entrance will be used as an entrance for construction vehicles only. Public will be allowed to exit via that roadway, but not enter. The only public entrance to the lot will be the roadway nearest the school. There will be signage and students not conforming will lose the privilege of parking in the SCC parking lot. Safety is a priority and we appreciate our students’ and parents’ patience and thank you for complying with the rules and expectations outlined.
Thank you for your continued support in this safety concern.
