KIDS WHO CARE

Kids and families at Island Lakes Community School do care!! Under the direction of Mrs. Molin , the Grade 3/4 class, with support of the school community raised $3106.68 for Myanmar Cyclone Fund and the China Earthquake Fund. This donation was forwarded to Red Cross International who have directed funds to these respective organizations. A huge "Thank You" goes out the students in Grade 3/4 for their creation of "Compassion Jewelry". The beautiful necklaces they crafted reminded us all of the concern and sense of social responsibility we have for our neighbours around the world. Many parents of the grade 3/4 students also joined in on this initiative by assisting in the creation and selling of the jewelry. Their support is much appreciated. Of course, many thanks goes out to the entire school community who showed and shared their care and concern by purchasing jewelry and giving to this worthwhile cause.
