Code Highbury

The school community has developed an understanding that respect must be at the foundation of every action to create a positive school climate.

Code Highbury

1. Respect for Oneself

This may be the most important part of the code. If we all do things that we can be proud of the rest of the code will fall into place.

2. Respect for Others

Everyone has the right to learn in a safe and peaceful environment. We are all responsible for respecting these rights.

3. Respect for Quality Work

All members of the school community are encouraged to do their best and to always strive for improvement. If we support our peers and value quality, we will attain greater success in our endeavours.

4. Respect for the Environment

We all share the school, and keeping it free of language pollution, garbage and clutter is in everyone’s best interest. Please use respectful language, ensure that your footwear is clean, use garbage and recycling receptacles and respect the property of others. Together, we can keep our school beautiful.

5. Respect for the “Code”

Both students and staff must work together to create an environment that fosters student success and professional growth. By accepting our responsibility to respect the “Code,” we support these goals.

In light of this “Code,” students are held accountable for their behaviour, and are required to make amends for any transgression. The emphasis will be on improving the situation and making a commitment that it will not happen again. For more information about school expectations, visit the Highbury Handbook.
