Principal's Bulletin

Happy Spring to everyone! This is the time of year when we are busy with end of year activities, as well as preparing for the upcoming school year. Our staffing process for the 08 -09 school year is in the very beginning stages. We are pleased to announce that we will not be loosing any teachers and we will in fact be gaining an additional classroom teacher in the grade 7 & 8 area.
Student placements for next year will occur during the month of June. Students will be placed in classes with consideration given to: balance of male and female students, balance of class size, placing students with constructive peer supports and matching teaching styles with student's needs. The placement of students is the responsibility of the school administrator in consultation with classroom teachers and specialists. At times, there are specific concerns that parents may have with regards to class placements. If you would like to address specific academic or social emotional issues that you believe should be considered, please send your comments in writing to the office, attention of Claire Maxwell or Lisa Lewis, before June 6, 2008. Our concern is that we provide the best possible learning environment for all students. Therefore, as always, when making class placements, the staff will take all factors into consideration.
We look forward to hosting Senior's Day on May 6th! Our Volunteer Reception will be held in the library on June 10th, at 2:00. Invitations will be coming home during the month of May.
Please do not hesitate to call the school if you have any concerns regarding our May activities.
