Extracurricular Activities

Music

Our extracurricular activities support and enrich the ongoing learning that occurs daily during the students' schedule. Various choirs, Jazz Bands, Guitar Clubs and Orff groups are offered to students in Grades K-9. Students participate in divisional and provincial Music Festivals, Band Camps and Master Classes with various musicians throughout the year.

Fine Arts

Students are given various extracurricular opportunities in painting, clay work, sculpture and other media development throughout the year. As well, students help to create the back drops for our school productions and will continue to be part of our school's visual development. The Artists in the Schools program allows students to work with artists in Manitoba utilizing various media and form.

Drama and Juggling

Students have a wonderful opportunity to learn the art of Juggling! We have a very talented group of Jolly Jugglers at Hastings who have learned the unique art of balance, dance, rhythm and team work to create incredible show stoppers. Performances are seen throughout the year.

Our Drama Club meets weekly to work to create an incredible production each year. Students have the privilege of working with various artists to develop their acting talents.

Intramural Sports

We have a very active intramural sports program at Hastings. Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Track and Field just a few of the sports and activities offered throughout the year. Athletes can participate on every level possible and are able to further develop their skills during the Intramural Program.

Track and Field/Marathon Clubs

Students are able to participate in both the Marathon Club and Track and Field Events. Parents and staff are also involved in these clubs.
