Bienvenue

Welcome back! We hope that you’ve all had a enjoyable and restful summer! We are all very excited about meeting the students and staff and ensuring a successful year by providing students with exciting learning opportunities in a safe and caring environment. In addition to welcoming returning families and staff, we offer a special welcome to the new students, parents and staff who are starting their educational journey at Marie-Anne-Gaboury this year. Welcome to:

  • Mme Kristen Hildebrand in Grade 1
  • Mme Makaela Peña in Grade 1/2
  • Mme Lindsay Wowchuk in Grade 2/3
  • Mme Sylvie Fontaine (Student teacher in Grade 5)
  • Mme Rachelle Albrecht (Student teacher in Grade 6)
  • Mme Lindsay Tremeer (Student teacher in Grade 8)

On a personal note, I am very excited, as the new principal of MAG, to be working with such a devoted team of individuals. My initial meetings with teachers, Mme Meyer, students, parents, secretarial staff, custodial staff, student services staff, educational assistants, lunch supervisors, etc, have been wonderful and have assured me that this team’s reputation of dedication and hard work is indeed accurate. I want to thank you all for making Marie-Anne-Gaboury such an excellent school. I am confident that the 2008-09 school year will be very successful for all members of our team. I also take this opportunity to invite you to come meet me the next time you are at school, as I look forward to meeting you.
We would like to thank our great custodial team for the pride that they take in their work in assuring a clean and safe learning environment. Bon travail à M. Robert Fillion, M. Guy Moquin and Mr David DeCarle. Great job! We would also like to thank our secretarial staff, Mme Pineau Ward and Mme McKellar, for their efficiency and their help in ensuring a smooth start to the school year.
It is my hope that the opening day conferences provided an excellent opportunity for students and parents to meet with their homeroom teachers and ensure a great start to the school year.
I would like to wish you all a great year and remind you of our school motto: “Respect, and aim for the best!” or “Respecter et faire de son mieux”.

Marc Poirier
