MAG Parent Committee
Message from the Parent Committee
Basking in the glow of the recent walkathon and the successful sale of magazines by our students and families, the Parent Committee is dreaming up ways to enhance our school life. We are planning additional technology, book room, science, and gym equipment purchases. Start planning ahead for Winterlude 2010 in late winter/early spring. Volunteer help and ideas are always appreciated.
The Parent Committee meetings are Dec 14th, Jan. 11th, Feb. 8th, March 8th, April 19th and May 11th in the staff room at 6:30 p.m.
A reminder of our upcoming Pizza Lunches: December 18th, February 26th, March 26th, April 30th, and May 21st.

Have you ever wondered, “What does the PAC do for me and my child?” Well, thanks to everyone’s support last year, the PAC continued to positively contribute to our school community environment in numerous and varied ways. Through the substantial volunteer and fundraising support from the valued members of our school community, some our recent accomplishments included:
- Purchasing: a Mimeo Board (a portable interactive white board); books for the shared Book Room; Math manipulatives for the grades 4-6 classes; and “Yacker Trackers” and cooking supplies for the grades K-3 classes;
- Hosting successful Family Fun events, including: an evening with MTYP, a family movie night, our own Winterlude skate in the park, and the Summer Grill barbeque;
- Organizing a monthly hot lunch and providing a year-end free hot lunch for all students and staff;
- Recognizing our crossing patrol, peer tutor, and noon-hour secretary student volunteers with a bowling outing and pizza lunch;
- Annual funding for the Grade 8 class graduating legacy gift for the school. Past grade 8 graduate legacy gifts have included trees for the school yard, physical education equipment, and musical instruments; and
- Presenting our annual $300 scholarship, at the Collège Jeanne-Sauvé graduation ceremony for a former École Marie-Anne-Gaboury student.
