Planning for next year

At this time of the school year, many of the “final” events begin to take place. Dakota students take advantage of one last opportunity to demonstrate their skills and talents through athletics, performing arts and leadership. It has been a tremendous year filled with many outstanding accomplishments throughout our school community. The rich diversity of the school culture provides many types of learning experiences for everyone. Dakota Collegiate has a great deal to celebrate as a learning community.

In spring, we also begin to shift some of our focus to the next school year. There will be some significant changes taking place at Dakota Collegiate over the next few years as a result of the Riel Project. One of the changes that will be in place for next year is a new Dakota timetable. This new timetable is necessary in order to facilitate the increase in high school graduation requirements to 30 credits. Dakota’s “new day” will be as follows:

                            8:30     A slot
                            9:50     B slot
                            11:05   C slot
                            12:15   Lunch (Common lunch period)
                            1:10     D slot
                            2:30     E slot
                            3:40     Dismissal

Additional changes to Dakota Collegiate will be shared once they are finalized.
