February 2010

The month of February is already upon us and as with every other month, there is much going on, and there are many activities planned for the coming weeks. We are currently writing final exams which will see the end of the first semester. It should be noted that the 2nd semester will begin on Thursday, February 4, 2010. There will be no classes on Friday, February 5th.

 
Also coming up will be an information evening regarding Math options for our Grade 9 parents and students that will be held on February 9th. On that same evening, a presentation on the credit system, courses and programs for our Grade 8 parents and students will be held. It should be noted that immediately following that presentation a representative from Pioneer Camp will provide information regarding the camp that will be held at the end of May.

 
February will also see our annual Festival du Voyageur pancake breakfast on the 12th. Our grade 7 students will be going skiing on the 17th and 18th of the month. It should be noted that Friday, February 19th is a PD day for our teachers and there are no classes scheduled for that day. As well, Tuesday, February 23rd is an early dismissal day at Collège Béliveau.

Report cards for our grade 9 to 12 students will be mailed home the week of February 8. Report cards for our grade 7 and 8 students will be sent home on Tuesday, February 16th, along with confirmations for our parent/teacher/student conferences which will be held on the evening of Thursday, March 4. Our students will be receiving their Student Handbooks at the end of February, in order to make course choices for next year. Looking ahead to March, an information evening for Grade 6 parents from our five feeder schools will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. We look forward to continue serving the Collège Béliveau community and if you have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to call your young person’s teacher or the Administration at 255-3205.
