What's Happening?Time is valuable, and keeping track of school events and activities can be challenging. What's Happening? is a quick-reference tool that provides information about developments that affect students, parents, staff and the school community. How many students participated in the Grade 7 basketball tournament? When and where is the workshop about Internet safety occurring? How do I sign up to volunteer at my child’s school? Visit monthly to learn more about the school’s upcoming events. What's happening in June?The end of the school year marks a time of transition. Students consolidate a year’s worth of learning and pack their belongings for the summer. Families join staff and students to mark the departure of our Grade 6 students. Teachers prepare final Student Progress Reports. And, of course, everyone looks forward to summer weather and a break from routine. École Henri-Bergeron has many traditions to mark year-end transitions. Many are classroom-based, others are school-wide. All form part of the school’s culture. I would like to highlight four traditions in particular: Spring FairOur annual spring fair will take place this Thursday, rain or shine. Please bring folding chairs or a picnic blanket as we are trying something new this year. Meals will be served from 5:00–7:00 with a concert to follow. Volunteer Appreciation Come-and-Go BreakfastThe event will take place on Friday, June 20 between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. If you have not yet received your invitation or had the chance to reply, please leave your name at the school office to assist with our planning. Assemblée d’au revoir and Picnic LunchBoth events occur on the last day of school. Please consider yourself invited! The assembly will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the school gymnasium while the picnic lunch will begin at 12:15 p.m. in the field or gym, depending on the weather. Bring a blanket and whatever you would like to eat. Dessert’s on us.
