Principal's Bulletin
Wednesday February 24, 2010ATC Welcomes New and Returning Students.
Helping students fulfill their goals related to skilled careers, post-secondary education and personal success is the mission at the Arts and Technology Centre. We recently bid farewell to students who have fulfilled their goals and have completed their programs or who are returning to their home high schools to continue their studies in semester two. These students depart with new knowledge and expertise and a sense of pride in their accomplishments.
This semester is exciting for us as we welcome another group of students to ATC for semester two, some who are attending for the first time and others who are returning to complete their programs. We are also pleased to open the doors to our first class of the new Early Childhood Educator program. It is with pleasure that we welcome Ms. Grant who will be teaching this exciting program.
Students and staff will be spending many hours in preparation for the various skills competitions that will take place over the next several months. These competitions offer students a wonderful opportunity to further develop their skills required in their specific trades and technology careers.
At this time of the year we are providing information about ATC to prospective students and families through school presentations, information evenings and career symposiums. One information sharing event that is a highlight at ATC is the opportunity to welcome Grade 8 students for the Skills Technology Showcase. We look forward to welcoming prospective students and their families to attend an information evening on February 24 or April 28 to find out more about programs available at ATC and the different paths open to students.
On behalf of ATC staff, it is a pleasure to congratulate students on their
accomplishments in semester one and extend best wishes for semester two, whether it is at ATC, at a high school or on the job.
Sincerely
Mr. R. Cordingley
Ms. B. Mitchell
