Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting (AER)

The introduction of new K–8 Student Progress Reports in 2006–07 and new Grade 9–12 Student Progress Reports in 2007–08 has made AER a focus for all of the Division's schools. The following three divisional Priorities have served to guide school planning conversations:

  • Priorities for Student Learning
  • Priorities for Professional Practice and Learning
  • Priorities to Develop School and Divisional Culture and Climate

By crafting outcomes and developing strategies to support these Priorities, schools will also ensure that the AER initiative supports the Division’s Vision to “develop caring, literate and capable people who value learning and strive to reach their potential as they pursue the common good.

Student Services Review

The vitality of a school division depends significantly on the programs and services it provides. In 2005, the Louis Riel School Division hired a social research company, to review the current state of student services within the Division.

The review was designed to identify the strengths of existing programs and services and to suggest improvements. A steering committee comprised of teachers, administrators, divisional consultants, trustees and parents participated in the project to ensure all sides were represented.

The final report offers recommendations to enhance and strengthen existing programs and services, thus supporting the Division's Priorities to evaluate, maintain and implement programs and services that foster inclusive learning environments and support student learning.
