Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the enhanced Louis Riel School Division website!

According to Statistics Canada, Canadian households have moved well beyond "surfing" the Internet. The number of families who use it as their primary source of information, to guide decisions about daily living and planning, has grown remarkably.

We have responded to that growth, by enhancing our divisional website to include information for families with demanding schedules and busy lives. The divisional website can be a resourceful tool that provides current and practical information about schedules, events and policies.

However, the enhancement of the divisional website has asked us to reflect on other important dimensions of our role in the community. We have designed it not only to provide information, but also to share the Vision & Mission that guides learning in the Louis Riel School Division and honours the values of the public education system.

"Respectful partnerships between home, school and community" anchor those values. In a community that wants the best for all children, the website is the medium for our Vision and Mission—we want it to reflect them in every aspect of the information that it conveys.
