The School BellThe School Bell is an "op-ed" article written by the Louis Riel School Division, and published in the Lance. The term op-ed (opposite the editorial page) refers to the location of the article in the newspaper. Typically, an op-ed piece allows individuals or organizations to speak to an entire community about topics that matter to both parties. The School Bell provides insight for the community about educational issues. Added to the information it offers about specific issues and divisional practices to support education, it also promotes the efforts and accomplishments of the Division's staff and students. By sharing added perspectives about matters that interest community members, such as budget development and inclusive education, the Division hopes to raise awareness, promote understanding, and encourage further dialogue.
